Nalani gave us an excellent background on Steampunk Fashion. For the blog post related to that, I want you to do the following:
- Post a link to a picture of a Steampunk outfit you would like to wear. State in your post why you like this outfit and what elements of it make it Steampunk. Do not post an outfit someone else has already posted (first come, first serve).
- Then, comment on at least one other person's posted outfit what you think of it!
Enjoy! I'm excited to see all your outfits.

ReplyDeleteI loveeeee this costume soooo much, its sexy and cute and i love it (:
Remember to state which aspects of this costume make it Steampunk :)
DeleteI really like the goggles and the hat, also the leather gives it a steam-punky feel.
DeleteHer goggles and her leather and the loose white shirt and the corset

ReplyDeleteI don't have a reason for wanting to wear this. Maybe because it's awesome. But, anyway, I love Abraham Lincoln, and I enjoy steampunk. That's why I would wear it.
Remember to state which aspects of this costume make it Steampunk :)
DeleteFor this particular picture, Abe Lincoln's goggles and contraption on his back make it steam-punk.
DeleteOh fudge! Steampunk Lincoln!
DeleteCoolest thing I've ever seen.
It's not "maybe" awesome, it's most certainly awesome.
DeleteI love this so much! I love the steampowered back pack thing!
DeleteThere's actually quite a bit of Abraham Lincoln steampunk stuff

ReplyDeleteI feel like I could pull off a William Davoe or a Robert Patrick. A dope Wild West wardrobe.

DeleteIn some other picture Robert Patrick is holding a watch-like gizmos with some glasses/goggles making it very steampunk. In the link above there are more photos below.
I have to agree haha
DeleteI love these spiffy, neat suits!

ReplyDeleteI think maroon fits really nicely with the steam punk fashion. and goggles, wut wut.
"wow, cute allen"
DeleteThe maroon is BEAUTIFUL in steampunk, it's such a dim, mellow but very pretty color. I imagine the higher class wearing this color more.
DeleteI am in love with that top hat... I really want it
i agree i love the hat.

ReplyDeleteOh fudgecicles, I love her hair. The clocks and goggles make her outfit very steampunk.
This outfit feels kind of like steampunk Alice In Wonderland to me... I like it!
Deletei agree with Arachne, it does look very alice in wonderlandy

ReplyDeleteI think this would be a perfect steam punk fashion with like a steel corset and gears and goggles.
http://steampunkcostume.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/steampunk-santa.jpg
ReplyDeleteWhat modern fairy tale has more elements of steam punk than mother f*cking Father Christmas?
He invents, time travels, rides in a magical sleigh powered by potentially aether engineered reindeer?
Why do you think Rudolf's nose glows?
Aether, obviously.
Also, I would rock the Santa costume, obviously.
Truth is Santa isn't fat he has the first gear-powered organ system. Making him look big around the waist.
DeleteHe is my all time favorite Steampunk Santa
DeleteHe is, in my opinion the only one to have make a decent steampunk Santa costume that makes sense. it's not TOO out there, he blended the original idea of Santa Claus perfect with steampunk, not too much or too little of either

ReplyDeleteI think all the gears and the color make it look really steampunky
This is a beautiful head piece! all the small details are fit in perfectly

ReplyDeleteThis. I really like this dress because it's not as overtly feminine as most other steampunk dresses are. That's just my preference. The outfit as a whole, in my opinion, is steampunk largely because of the coloring, the Victorian-looking jewelry, the things in her hair, and the goggles, of course. :)
I know this is labeled by the posters as Steampunk and it does have the Steampunk elements you pointed out but the cut of the dress and style of the buttons seems more 50's or 60's to me. Which, for me, makes it more Atompunk.
DeleteThis is very beautiful, though I do have to agree with Josh.
DeleteI really want to make that dress.
